Eleftherios Kalkanis
 Chief Musician, Composer

He started his musical studies at the Piraeus Conservatory at the cello school. He then studied advanced theory and received a degree in Harmony, Counterpoint, Fugue, as well as diplomas in Composition and Cello. He completed his studies in the professional conducting department of the University of Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Choir, obtaining the academic titles Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts respectively.
He collaborated with the leading Greek composers Mikis Theodorakis and Giannis Markopoulos in a series of concerts in the largest theaters in Greece, Europe and USA.
In June 2007 he orchestrated for the Boston Pops Orchestra.
In February 2016 he orchestrated for PHOENIX SYMPHONY
As Director of the Orchestra he has conducted operas – operettas – services – oratorios – chamber music orchestras, performances of Greek art music – musicals as well as works for symphony orchestra of the international repertoire in Greece and abroad.
He has written symphonic music, electronic music, opera oratorio, concerts, chamber music works, works for solo instruments, works for small ensembles as well as music for contemporary dance – theater and cinema.
Since 2006 he has been the Artistic Director and Chief Musician of the ensembles of the Melody Spirit Institute with which he gives regular concerts in Greece and abroad.
